Poseidon's Extension is officially opened

Poseidon helps launch disability boxing project

Mayor RIbbon Cutting Gym2

On Wednesday 30th September the fabulous new extension to Poseidon Amateur Boxing Club was formerly opened by the Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Jane Welsh and former WBO World Champion Alex Arthur MBE.  After a few short speeches and due thanks to Eastleigh Borough Council for their considerable investment, delegates were invited to the entrance to Poseidon at the Ageas Bowl where the Mayor of Eastleigh unveiled the plaque and cut the ribbon.  Visitors were then invited to look around the gym and talk to members of the club, both junior and senior.  Alex Arthur was a hit with the members and was generous enough to spend a number of hours signing gloves and taking photos with young and not so young!  The Mayor, meanwhile was brave enough to don some boxing gloves and test out the one of the boxing rings.  A fabulous celebration of exciting times to come.
